Personal:

I have 4 kids, 2 boys and 2 girls. 11, 9, 6 and 2. I have been married to my guy for 13 years. He is great and so supportive of my running life. He is also very active, mostly weight training and he has run 2 half marathons as well. He is very fast without training too hard. 1:28 Half Marathon!!! I am working on being able to keep up with him. Someday when are kids are older we look forward to training together.

It was my last run with Alisa today. She has been such a great running partner and I will miss her so much. We are heading out tomorrow for OC.

I did two miles at a 10k pace, just by feel. It ended up being a 7:43 average. Go Me!!!!

I found a really great route last week that I did again today. It is 2 miles from my house to this great hill. It is behind some apartments and I run up to the peak and back down the other side for a cool down. Then I reverse it and do the same thing again. It is the perfect distance. So mixed in the middle of my 5 miles today I ran 4 hill repeats. The hill repeats equal to be 1 mile and then I turn around and run the 2 miles back home.

I have to say I am not having the easiest transition here. I do love the area but I really don't like our rental. It is old and I feel like it is dirty. Because it is a rental my husband keeps telling me to stop spending so much time to make it look the way I want it. He is right, because we really are not going to be here long. It is really hard to look around me while I am inside and enjoy California. When I am outside I love where I live!!!!!

I took my kids down to the beach for a walk. My two year old was so cute when I took his picture he kept saying cheese and grining so big. On the way home I got pooped on by a bird. Thankfully it was just on my hand.

Miss you all!!! If it makes you feel any better it has actually been a little chilly here since we got here. It has been averaging like 55. Which is actually pretty cold here. It is funny to see the locals walking around in scarfs, hats and gloves.

I ran the opposite direction on the boardwalk this morning. There were tons of runners and bikers and there were tons of surfers to watch this morning.

I felt great and was surprised that an 8:20 pace was comfortable today. I have stayed pain free in my hip and I am loving it. I am just not sure how much to push without re-injuring. I plan to listen to my body a little better this time.

The first 4 miles were very comfortable so I decided I need to run the last for miles as a negative split. I started to tire around 6.5 miles. I got chicked at 4.5 miles. Thankfully it was by a guy and not a girl. He must have been doing an out and back because a mile after he passed me he turned around and ran towards me. I was pleased to see he was working pretty hard. I like to think it was because he was trying to catch me. I will just pretend!

I gave it all had the last mile. I wished I had had a little more speed but none the less this was  a great run this morning!

1 hour yoga and lower body weights. I didn't like this instructor as much as the one on Thurs. It is nice to get some much needed stretching in though.

I ran along the boardwalk again today. I need to branch out a little more but it is so beautiful by the Ocean. I also feel safe running there because there are a lot of people exercising. Even early in the morning.

I am meeting up with a friend of a friend who is a Marathon runner and lives here in Huntington. I am excited to have someone to run with tomorrow.

Oh my goodness I can't believe it is already Feb. 20th!

I met up with a new running friend today. She was great and we are prerry compatiable pace wise. We are going to meet tomorrow for a 10 miler. She has lived in Huntington her whole life so she is going to show me all the great places to run. This morning we ran along the river bed, it was beautiful. We met at 5:15. Yikes!!! I was late because a got a little lost. Thankful she had waited for me.

I ran a beautiful 10 mile loop around the Marina with Renea today. She is fabulous and I am so excited I have already found someone to run with. She runs with a group on Tues. nights at a track, so I think I will try that this week. They do speed work and there is a coach.

1 hour yoga. Met some Yoga buddies a couple of weeks ago so that has been fun to have friends there. I am not much older than them and they think it is crazy that I have 3 kids. They are both un-married so I am sure that is even harder to imagine. It is crazy that I have 3 kids!!!!!

Lower body weights. I think I will be sore tomorrw.

We are going to Disneyland tomorrow!!!!!

Ran with Renea again today. She is great. We have a bit of a schedule now. Mon, Thurs and Sat. Mornings. I am pretty sure I am going to do the LA Marathon. It is on Memerial Day. What do ya all think?

Exhausted!!!! We spent all day at Disney yesterday after I had run 7 miles at 5 am. It was so fun!!!!!! We went to the beach today. Jon watched the kids while I ran and then we all played on the beach for a bit longer when I was finished running.

It took so much effort to run today. I am so drained tonight.
