Personal:

I have 4 kids, 2 boys and 2 girls. 11, 9, 6 and 2. I have been married to my guy for 13 years. He is great and so supportive of my running life. He is also very active, mostly weight training and he has run 2 half marathons as well. He is very fast without training too hard. 1:28 Half Marathon!!! I am working on being able to keep up with him. Someday when are kids are older we look forward to training together.

YEAH BABY!!!! I felt so good today. I was really worried about doing 22. The furthest I have ever gone on a training run is 20 miles.

I wish I was a bit more prepared physically for this race in the sense that I am not trained to run a PR but I feel so strong mentally so I am super excited.

Renae met me around mile 7.5 and rode her bike the rest of the way with me. She ran her marathon last Sat. Seriously! How sweet is she too come and hang with me and get me through this long run.

I took 3 IBprophen at mile 8. I've never done that before but think I like it. Does anyone else have experience with this?

I busted out my last mile in 8:15.

AP 9:07

Blessing... Renae. For obvious reasons today!! She rocks!!!!

Good gravy, Britta! It's not just that you run 22 miles, but at a 9:07 pace??!! Wow!

Burt, Thanks for pretending that a 9:07 pace is good. I was feeling a little bumbed it wasn't a bit faster. Nonetheless it is mine and I will take it!!!

I can't maintain that pace for that long. So, it's good for me. :)

Great Job! I have taken IB during a couple of long runs and did at mile 10 in Boston and felt much better.

I have never taken any meds, it scares me. So, do not ask me on that one, I say if it helps---do it!

You did great! That was so sweet of your friend to join you, 22 miles is a long way by yourself. I thought you were only doing 20??

I ran 22 last week with an average pace of 9 something, so I say WE ARE NOT SLOW! You will do great in your marathon---YOU WILL!

Britta,

I am the queen of taking meds on long runs but have vowed to never doing it again after reading the article on ibuprofen in Runner's World last month. Now it's scares me.

Please be careful!!!
