Personal:

I have 4 kids, 2 boys and 2 girls. 11, 9, 6 and 2. I have been married to my guy for 13 years. He is great and so supportive of my running life. He is also very active, mostly weight training and he has run 2 half marathons as well. He is very fast without training too hard. 1:28 Half Marathon!!! I am working on being able to keep up with him. Someday when are kids are older we look forward to training together.

Treadmill miles. I ran while my 2 year old napped. My older children were so good and I was able to get in all my miles.

AP 8:15'is

Blessing... The Treadmill. That's right people you heard me.. The Treadmill. Normally it is not my first choice, but there is for sure a time and a place for it. I would not have been able to get all my miles in this week with out it. When I was done running my kids wanted a turn. My 7 year old ran 2 MILES!!!! I was totally impressed. He was so cute when he would stop to take a drink of water or tell me to turn it to a better song. He was totally singing away. My 5 year old ran .25 which wasn't too shabby either.

Oops this I meant to post this on THUSDAY!!

You let your 7 year old on the treadmill? Okay, my kids beg to get on the treadmill but I have been scared. If your 7 year old can do it, then my 9 and 10 year olds should be okay, right??? I can not believe he ran 2 miles! Good for him!

And way to look at the positive side of things and get those miles in. How is the weather?

From britta on Fri, May 01, 2009 at 14:49:52 from 66.74.232.169

Yes, I even let my 5 year old run on it. Don't turn me into Child protective services. I of course stay in the room with them while they are on it. And I stand pretty much right by my 5 year old.

The weather is great. In fact we are headed down to the farmers market on the beach in just a few min. I need to find something really great for my mom for mothers day.

They sell more than produce at the market.

THAT SOUNDS SO GREAT!!!!! I wish I could head down to the farmers market. Good luck, I hate trying to find mother's day stuff, it is SO HARD!

I will not turn you in. I have just been a chicken to let my kids on it, but now that you have I will give it a try. They BEG ME!!!!

Nice job Britta!!

You seem to be the kind of mom that my kids wish they had!! :) :) :)

(Actually, I pretty much make my 6 year old boy run a mile everyday. He has a bit of an aggression issue and he is so much more self-control on the days that he runs!! Plus ... he is super cute to watch run.)

Thanks Britta for getting that song stuck in my head...

To everything, turn, turn, turn

There is a season, turn, turn, turn

From britta on Fri, May 01, 2009 at 17:01:07 from 66.74.232.169

Burt, I am confused? What song?

From Burt on Fri, May 01, 2009 at 17:25:09 from 68.76.197.194

That old 70's song by the Byrds.

To everything (turn, turn, turn)

There is a season (turn, turn, turn)

And a time for every purpose, under heaven

A time to be born, a time to die

A time to plant, a time to reap

A time to kill, a time to heal

A time to laugh, a time to weep

To everything (turn, turn, turn)

There is a season (turn, turn, turn)

And a time for every purpose, under heaven

A time to build up,a time to break down

A time to dance, a time to mourn

A time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together

To everything (turn, turn, turn)

There is a season (turn, turn, turn)

And a time for every purpose, under heaven

A time of love, a time of hate

A time of war, a time of peace

A time you may embrace, a time to refrain from embracing

To everything (turn, turn, turn)

There is a season (turn, turn, turn)

And a time for every purpose, under heaven

A time to gain, a time to lose

A time to rend, a time to sew

A time to love, a time to hate

A time for peace, I swear its not too late

From britta on Fri, May 01, 2009 at 17:29:46 from 66.74.232.169

Great song. I am still confused as to how I am responsibly for getting it stuck in your head.

From Burt on Fri, May 01, 2009 at 17:33:20 from 68.76.197.194

You said there is a time and a place for a treadmill... A time to laugh, a time to weep, a time for treadmill, a time for ummm...roadkill?

Seriously though, I sent you that message 1 hour and 45 minutes ago, and it's been in my head the whole time. You're lucky it's a good song. LOL!

From britta on Fri, May 01, 2009 at 17:52:47 from 66.74.232.169

So Sorry I am a little slooooow!

Do you have a long run tomorrow? I will be interested to hear how many miles it sticks with you!!!!

From Burt on Fri, May 01, 2009 at 18:27:36 from 68.76.197.194

You're evil! Maybe I should wear my MP3 player.

From Burt on Fri, May 01, 2009 at 18:28:29 from 68.76.197.194

Now I'm trying to replace it with - when upon life's billows you are tempest tossed, when you are discouraged thinking all is lost...

From britta on Fri, May 01, 2009 at 18:35:51 from 66.74.232.169

Seriously Burt you are my new favorite person. So so funny! I can't wait to hear how your tuneful run goes tomorrow.

From Cheryl on Sat, May 02, 2009 at 00:00:47 from 76.27.66.153

I agree, the treadmill is great when you can't get outside to run, which seems to happen to me a lot. Good job of getting in those miles.
