Personal:

I have 4 kids, 2 boys and 2 girls. 11, 9, 6 and 2. I have been married to my guy for 13 years. He is great and so supportive of my running life. He is also very active, mostly weight training and he has run 2 half marathons as well. He is very fast without training too hard. 1:28 Half Marathon!!! I am working on being able to keep up with him. Someday when are kids are older we look forward to training together.

I ran down along the beach. Neener neener neener!!! LOL! Of course I am totally kidding!

I love my MP3 now that I got rid of all my husbands music. The 6 went by so fast because I was singing away. I hope nobody could hear me! Ran past a lady with tons of plastic surgery and her dog had pink tennis shoes on!!! I have also seen people pushing there dogs in baby strollers. O people are fun!

AP 8:35

Splits 8:52, 8:48, 8:56, 8:56, 8:38, 7:26 (when I grow up I want to be like JonA)

Blessing... LEGS. Just before my last mile I ran into a beautiful woman in my ward who is in a wheelchair. She was coming down to the beach to exercise. She use to run high school and college track until she was in a car accident and now is wheelchair bound. I powered out my last mile thinking how good it felt to use my legs. Seriously, I am so thankful I get to drag myself out of bed early each morning to run. You never know when it can be taken away from you.

You made me laugh then you made me cry.

I should be an actress!

(I'd be gloating about running on the beach every day too)

Are you ready for your Marathon?

From britta on Thu, May 14, 2009 at 10:47:10 from 66.74.232.169

Ready is very realative! This will not be a PR for me but it has really been a struggle to get any miles in during this transition period of my life. I ran a 22 a couple of weeks ago and I felt great so that gave me a lot of confidence.

Are you signed up for SGM?

From Cal on Thu, May 14, 2009 at 10:50:13 from 66.133.117.3

Yeah I'm in for St. George. I have my countdown timer going on my computer screen. 141 days to go...

I didn't see your name on the list.

(does your mom live near your old neighborhood by chance?)

From britta on Thu, May 14, 2009 at 10:55:01 from 66.74.232.169

I choose not to sign up this year. I was so torn but it literally has about killed me to prepare for LA. I just needed a break from scheduled running.

I am glad it is too late to sign up because I changed my mind everyday for a month if I was going to do it or not. I drove my husband CRAZY.

If you mean my old neighborhood in Herriman.. No. Did you see someone who looks like she could be my mom?

From Cal on Thu, May 14, 2009 at 11:06:05 from 66.133.117.3

yes i did. i'm glad that i didn't ask her about you now!

Britta, optimism is so great and I totally agree with you on just being able to use your legs. I always need to evaluate myself and remember how blessed and lucky I am to even be able to do what I do. Thanks for the reminder:) BTW, when are you coming back to SLC again?

From Kellies on Thu, May 14, 2009 at 22:00:06 from 66.119.143.249

Neener Neener is right!! And, that is funny about the plastic lady and her pink tennis shoed dog!! Only in California! Very nice run today and very nice blessing. I have often thought those very same things! As painful as it is sometimes, it is so nice to be able to run!! Loved your post~
