I have 4 kids, 2 boys and 2 girls. 11, 9, 6 and 2. I have been married to my guy for 13 years. He is great and so supportive of my running life. He is also very active, mostly weight training and he has run 2 half marathons as well. He is very fast without training too hard. 1:28 Half Marathon!!! I am working on being able to keep up with him. Someday when are kids are older we look forward to training together.

Day 9: "Making the Cut"

Ran with Valerie again today. She is super speedy but humors me and runs at my pace.

I am trying not to be bumbed about the program I am doing. I have really only lost 1lb. I just expected to be loosing more weight by drastically cutting my calories. I am fitting into my clothes better but I really just wanted to see the progress on the scale. By the end of tomorrow I will be a third of the way done and I will see the whole program through. I guess we are not all made to be 110 lbs.

Circuit weights 9 PM. Tuff workout and it felt great!

NO, we are not all made to be 110 pounds!!! You know, last week (day 4) you said you noticed a huge difference in your body---go with that and ignore the scale!!! And, as always, with a program like this you are gaining muscle.

You ALWAYS look fabulous!!!

Kelli,

It just feels so pointless to cut down to 1400 Calories if I am not dropping lbs. Thanks for the encouragement.

From Leandra on Tue, Jun 09, 2009 at 13:46:22 from 67.41.189.2

Seriously, in your pic you look 110! And I agree with Kelli, focus on the changes you see in your body and ignore that stupid scale.

So I ordered Making the Cut from Amazon last night- you were my inspiration. :) I had been wanting to try it and after reading your stuff, I decided I really wanted it. So just know that by reading how great you have done so far made me want to do better!

Leandra,

You just gave me the motivation I needed to keep going!! I need to throw my scale in the GARBAGE!!! It is definatly broken!

I can't wait to hear how it goes for you. It really is a good program and I truly feel better eating so healthy!

From Kelli on Tue, Jun 09, 2009 at 14:08:40 from 71.219.74.247

Britta, maybe with all of that working out 1400 calories is not enough?? You know when you do not eat enough your body will hang on to pounds for dear life! Just a thought...it seems counterintuitive but it is what I did for St George last year and it is the lowest I have ever gotten. I need to get back to that (but not cookies, apples instead!)

From Jody on Tue, Jun 09, 2009 at 23:41:26 from 98.202.136.149

I agree with Kelli - 1400 calories is not enough. I cut out most my sugar and a lot of my junk about a month before Boston and have lost at least 5 lbs and a few more depending on the day. Depriving yourself is not worth it, just make healthy changes.

I dont know what your schedule is like but what if up your mileage or intensity. I've been dropping weight without paying too much attention to my diet.

Runner Adam---that is because you are a man!

Sorry, I could not resist. My dang husband loses weight without trying just from running and I bust my butt! MEN!!!!

From Britta on Wed, Jun 10, 2009 at 01:28:22 from 66.74.236.175

Kelli,

Too Too Funny and so true. Sorry Adam but it is true. My husband is laughing because he is the same way. We start programs together and he gets the results he wants in half the time it takes me.

Today I was hungry and cranky so I did eat more calories but kept it clean so I feel good about that!

Britta you are awesome - keep it up and it will pay off!

Ryan,

Thanks so much!!! How are you doing?

From Jon A on Thu, Jun 11, 2009 at 12:27:14 from 67.214.249.195

Britta,

I agree with Kelli, you are gaining muscle. Ignore that darn scale. I'm sure Jon (your husband, his name is Jon right, and spelled Jon?) loves the way you look too!

IGNORE the scale, it doesn't know beauty!
