Personal:

I have 4 kids, 2 boys and 2 girls. 11, 9, 6 and 2. I have been married to my guy for 13 years. He is great and so supportive of my running life. He is also very active, mostly weight training and he has run 2 half marathons as well. He is very fast without training too hard. 1:28 Half Marathon!!! I am working on being able to keep up with him. Someday when are kids are older we look forward to training together.

7 mi tempo run this morning. Jackie is injured :( ran alone.

For some reason I have been worrying about doing this tempo all week long. I went into it not feeling super confident but just kept telling myself to do my best. I had wanted to average 7:13 but didn't quite make it... close though.

tempo splits 7:24, 7:08, 7:23, 7:12, 7:17, 7:27, 7:05

I felt really good till mile 5 had to stop at 5.5 and eat some stingers. Wasn't sure I would be able to finish the rest but plugged along as best I could.

Sometimes speedwork sucks all the fun out of running and sometimes it really makes running fun. Latley is sucking!

Tempos always psyche me out. It's such a relief to get them in. I have a hard time convincing myself it's worth doing without a finish line beckoning. I guess the difference between finishing well like you do and finishing average like most everybody else is you do these types of workouts. It's pretty easy to ride in the ruts, and just grind out low-effort miles. Good job!

Thanks Kam! I haven't been running my tempos as well lately so I am sure that is why I am nervous for them. I know they are going to be painful and not be as fast as I know I can do them. Are you running st. george?
