8 Total Marathons Short-Term Running Goals: Perfect my diet to run better, stonger and faster! Long-Term Running Goals: Run 3:15 marathon. Personal: I have 4 kids, 2 boys and 2 girls. 11, 9, 6 and 2. I have been married to my guy for 13 years. He is great and so supportive of my running life. He is also very active, mostly weight training and he has run 2 half marathons as well. He is very fast without training too hard. 1:28 Half Marathon!!! I am working on being able to keep up with him. Someday when are kids are older we look forward to training together.

At Elk Grove Park in Sac town. I scouted out where to put our blankets for the fireworks. Jonathan and the kids and his mom and dad met me when I was done so we could feed the ducks.

Just got home from Sacramento this afternoon and swam in the pool with the kids for awhile. Ran 10 on the TM had to give myself a time limit so I wouldn't drag it out forever. I really struggle running on the TM. So not fun!!!!! |

Trying to call this day a victory cause I listened to my body instead of doing my planned workout.
Was planning on doing 4x1600 @ 6:40 pace. Did the first one and felt terrible and almost puked. I haven't bailed on a workout for a long time so I feel like a failure but I keep trying to remind myself I listened to my body and my body was saying "NOT TODAY"!
Jackie and I ran easy and just put the miles in but we both had a hard time just doing that!
Blessing: Our new swimming pool. It was just finished a few weeks ago and with it being over 100 this week we are loving it. It has a super fun rock slide built into our hill. It is fast! |

Set out to do a 6 mi tempo run at 7:19. Didn't happen... it was so hot this morning with 100% humidity. Did the best I could and hung on as long as I could. I think what we should have done was lower our expectation on how fast we should have done the tempo and then maybe we could have hung on all 6 miles.
Maybe instead of 7:19 we should have hung around 7:45

7x800's walked .25 in between each. The walking was NICE!!!! Felt good and helped boost my confidence after last week of bad weather and bad speedwork.
I will add 3 sec to each repeat because we had a downhill for about .08 of each 800. Shooting for 3:15 did slightly better.

With Jackie. Felt really good till 14.5... it was instant... I felt great and then 10 seconds later BOOM! I had bathroom issues and stomach issues the rest of the run. Still feeling like I need to throw up every run.

On my own this morning. I used to run alone all the time but since moving to Corona and finding great running partners I haven't in a long time. Getting out of bed is harder when there is no one watiting for you but I didn't mind the actual run.
2x4 miles start at MP and drop to HMP
I again felt like I was going to throw up most of the run. I am starting to think I need to get in and get my asthma looked at.
First 4: 7:30, 7:24, 7:13, 7:17
Second 4: 7:20, 7:30, 7:25, 7:14

Felt good. Ran alone. I like to run alone except for the fact that my husband is nervous I won't make it home so then I am nervous and looking over my shoulder every 10 seconds. Only scary thing I ran into today was a coyote. He was affraid of me.
