I have 4 kids, 2 boys and 2 girls. 11, 9, 6 and 2. I have been married to my guy for 13 years. He is great and so supportive of my running life. He is also very active, mostly weight training and he has run 2 half marathons as well. He is very fast without training too hard. 1:28 Half Marathon!!! I am working on being able to keep up with him. Someday when are kids are older we look forward to training together.

Mile repeats today with Jackie...

Jackie said every time after we finished a repeat she wanted to swear and would say to herself..."Son of a B". Made me laugh because I felt the same way.

Today we worked on making our recoveries not last so long. We have a way of dragging them out. So we kept them to just walking a quarter mile after each. Seemed appropriate.

The first repeat was fine. My watch read 6:19 and Jackie's read 6:16.. we were right next to each other.

Second one HORRIBLE it was SUPER painful... we didn't rest long enough either. My watch 6:16 Jackies 6:13 again we were next to each other.

Third was fine.... I didn't look at my watch at all and told myself to just run my best. My watch 6:26 Jackies 6:21. She wasn't that far ahead of me so I am counting it as 6:23

4th hard but ok... again didn't really look at watch told myself to run as relaxed and strong as I could. My watch 6:27 Jackies 6:19 we finished at the same time though.

So I will just average my times with Jackie's watch since we ran side by side for each repeat except for the 3rd.

6:18, 6:15, 6:23, 6:23

Was going for 6:20-6:25

Should have taken the first two a touch slower and maybe could have averaged each at 6:20.

Glad it is over... mile repeats are my least favorite speedwork out.

Now off to finish painting my girls room.... tedious work with a two yr old helper. Wish me luck!

With Jackie. Slept two hours last night. I couldn't stop coughing long enough to fall asleep. Went and slept on the couch so my husband could atleast sleep.

SUPER SLOW!

Tempo this morning. I am getting better at running by feel. Didn't pay attention to watch till last mile. I felt strong for the first 5 and had to think about the last mile.

I am really pleased with how this workout went. Expectation was low going into the workout because I have been sick. Exceeded my expectation.

Splits 6:55, 6:55, 6:48, 6:55, 7:00, 7:01

Wish 3rd split was 6:55 then maybe my last two could have been under 7 too.

My route is completely flat except for a .15 up and then .15 down.

Running a down hill half on June 1st. Would love to break 1:30 hoping it won't be too difficult to do.

Ran long with Jackie and Chris... Chris is Jackie's future Bro in Law... he is deaf so it is always fun to brush up on my minimal knowledge of sign and learn new signs. He is super patient.. I am sure signing with me is like talking to a baby.

I was tired this morning. Legs were heavy. Dealing with a minor pain in my hip staying on top of it to make sure it doesn't turn major.

6x800's today. Wasn't expecting much today. My asthma and allergies are bad right now. Went into the workout telling myself don't look at your watch and just do your best. Was happy with the results. The workout felt harder then last time but I think my times weren't much slower than last time.

Splits 3:04, 3:04, 3:08, 3:08, 3:08, 3:08

I ran these outside so I would say that is pretty AMAZING how ON I was and I didn't look at my watch!!!

Was shooting for 3:10 so I came in under... I feel accomplished because I wasn't expecting much this morning but then that little voice in the back of my head keeps saying things like "You didn't run fast enough... and that was too hard for you."

I am totally a mental runner. I get in my head and sometime sabotage myself. Working on that!

Off to ice and stretch. My hip wants attention so it is acting up!

Going into my Asthma/Allergy Dr. today!! So HAPPY!
