Personal:

I have 4 kids, 2 boys and 2 girls. 11, 9, 6 and 2. I have been married to my guy for 13 years. He is great and so supportive of my running life. He is also very active, mostly weight training and he has run 2 half marathons as well. He is very fast without training too hard. 1:28 Half Marathon!!! I am working on being able to keep up with him. Someday when are kids are older we look forward to training together.

Ran with Alisa today in Herriman. It was cold and I was ornery at the start. I talked her ear off today. My hip is bugging me, that is why I ran very little last week. I am not sure what to do. It doesn't hurt that bad but I notice it all day long. The ache goes from my hip to about half way down to my knee on the outside of my leg. Does anyone know what that is?

It sounds like the IT band. Mine bugs me in the hip. The IT band runs from the top of your hip down the side of your knee. I use a rolling pin and I'll even dig into with the end of the remote control. There are a ton of stretches on line that help a lot too.

Great miles and pace ;)

Thanks so much Marion I will look it up!!!

From Teena on Mon, Dec 01, 2008 at 17:34:19

Yep, I think Marion hit it right on. IT Band. Stretching will help a ton. Yoga is also incredible.

Dang IT band, why do we need them??

Are you coming to BBK at all this week?? I am going to go, but I have to still run pretty slow of the knee gets mad at me (from the IT band--dang thing!)

I am coming tomorrow for sure but I am still unsure about Thurs. Do you want to carpool?

From Teena on Mon, Dec 01, 2008 at 18:44:25

What route are you all running tomorrow? What distance? Thinking about maybe trying it, but not sure.

I have to fast in the morning for some blood work that I need to have done to get a discount on health insurance premiums.

From Kelli on Mon, Dec 01, 2008 at 18:44:42

Yes, let's carpool. 5:15 or 5:45???

From Teena on Mon, Dec 01, 2008 at 20:17:26

Thanks for the email Kelli.

Perhaps I will see you two in the morning ... then again, more likely than not I won't see you ... but maybe!

Either way, you girls have tons of fun!

Good luck with your pain Britta. I've heard IT injuries can be a bugger.

From britta on Mon, Dec 01, 2008 at 22:11:32

Kelli, I really want to do more distance but considering that both of us are having aches and pains I wonder if 5:45 is the best choice. What do ya think?

From Kelli on Mon, Dec 01, 2008 at 23:58:45

I am sure you are in bed, but JUST IN CASE---5:45 it is. 30 more minutes of sleep sounds good to me.

From britta on Tue, Dec 02, 2008 at 06:57:16

I will be there. I really don't like the wind!
