Personal:

I have 4 kids, 2 boys and 2 girls. 11, 9, 6 and 2. I have been married to my guy for 13 years. He is great and so supportive of my running life. He is also very active, mostly weight training and he has run 2 half marathons as well. He is very fast without training too hard. 1:28 Half Marathon!!! I am working on being able to keep up with him. Someday when are kids are older we look forward to training together.

Pouring Rain!!! I actually really enjoyed the rain. Besides the fact that my fingers were so frozen I could not get to my energy snack I brought (sweedish fish) I really thought the rain was kind of fun! I ran really well until about mile 21, my knee gave out on me and I almost fell over. After the one time of almost callapsing it didn't happen again.

I was really happy with the over all outcome and I felt mentally strong. I crossed the finish line thinking "is it really over all ready". I would have loved to qualify for Boston (3:40 for my age and gender), but I PR'd by 28 min. I would have to be crazy to be dissapointed.

I relied so much on prayer through out training and through out the race. I know heavenly father was with me and I am so grateful he is mindful of my desires.

What a blessing it is to have health!!!!!!!

Great job on the marathon. I ran my first marathon when I had three..haven't had the desire to do another one so far. Your time was awesome. Good job on the PR.

What a great race! A PR too!!! I enjoyed reading about your race, I ended up dropping out at mile 13, but was fine with it. You would have made Boston had the weather behaved! Great Job! Great Attitude!

Britta - WAY TO GO! 28 mins off your PR! That's awesome! I love your choice of energy food. :o) (I'm a big fan of swedish fish!) I'm also sorry your knee gave out. I'm so happy you didn't get callapse or get severally injured (scary).

GREAT JOB!

AH!!!! I found another Herriman runner!! Yeah. We must run together some day. PM me and tell me where you live adn where you run.

OMGoodness, I sound like a stalker. Am I scaring you??? Sorry. Ask around, I am harmless.

Great job on the race. I also enjoyed the rain, it was quite refreshing! No need to grab a drink, just open up! And I LOVE swedish fish---they are my post run treat (the little 60 calorie packs) every day!!!

Great job on a PR---you will get that BQ next time for sure.

Belated congrats! Lots of potential still! (You now need to get Alisa Dunn to blog as well.)

From britta on Thu, Oct 09, 2008 at 11:48:22

How do you know Alisa? I just sent her the blog this morning.

From RivertonPaul on Thu, Oct 09, 2008 at 12:17:08

I live by her parents, and she was in my ward for a bit.

Great job on your race Britta, and such a big PR too!

I appreciate your comments on my blog, and I've been watching the whole family-balance discussion, though I've been way busy this week, too busy to join (no balance for me this week). It's a tough thing and I don't really have an answer. So there's my brilliant comment on that subject :)

I know it's way late, but I just wanted to say congrats on an amazing run!!! What a great PR! I am sure if the weather was on your side you would have gotten your BQ, but I guess it happens sometimes. You will definitely get it next time! Keep up the good work!!
